Zinc and copper are essential trace minerals that are critical to health but commonly deficient in Western diets. Zinc is found in almost every cell. It is involved in the activity of approximately one hundred enzymes. It is important to the immune system and is a constituent of insulin. Copper is found in all tissue in the body. It is required for many functions including maintaining the strength of bone and connective tissue, and the formation of haemoglobin and red-blood cells. Copper is also part of the SOD antioxidant enzyme which is the main antioxidant in the eye lens. Research suggests that an optimal balance of zinc to copper in the diet is important to help support cardiovascular and skeletal health. Zinc and Copper Balance provides a convenient way of ensuring a balanced intake of these important minerals. The zinc and copper amino chelates in this product are derived from whole rice concentrate rather than the soya, yeast or milk used in most chelates.
